Location: Government Pits, North Conway, New Hampshire

                    7.9 x 6 cm.

The large smoky quartz crystal on this specimen is 5 cm. high by 5.7 cm. wide. It has a second growth plane to the right that looks like a crack but it is not. It has several chips and fractures but is still a great specimen. The next largest crystal is not broken although it might appear that way in the photo, but it is misshapen. The orthoclase crystal is 2.5 x 1.7 cm. There are albite crystals at the base of  all the crystals.
